Who has won Second World War?

All Russians know that Russian people has won Germany in WWII with very little help of other countries. Site Pobediteli (Winners) - Soldiers of the Great War, was maden to explain why.

I understand this Russian point of view.

However, Russians tend to forget about anything other than the Russian/German front.

There was, after all ... a war fought in the Pacific against the Japanese ... a war fought against the Germans in the Atlantic ... a war fought in Northern Africa ... and invasions of Italy and France.

It wasn't the Russian-German War. It was the Second World War.

This isn't to take anything away from Russia's own battles and victories. But geographically it was a small part of the overall war.

I've seen that Pobediteli website before - the one thing I would say against it is - it makes it sound like Russian was achieving great victories the entire war. Russia had a tremendous number of casualties - those didn't happen in military victories or as a result of great military planning. Many of those early battles were real catastrophes for Russia.

Anyway, I know this is a sensitive topic and I think you know me well enough to know that I am not saying this to offend.
